About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Manly Merit handles information through manlymerit.com and the Manly Merit application, including app.manlymerit.com.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we receive account information such as your email address, account identifier, and any name or profile information supplied through your chosen sign-in method.

We store information you choose to save in the application, such as avatar settings, merits, badges, game activity, progress, calendar entries, reminders, and Man Cave photographs and captions. We also receive information you provide when you contact support.

Our service providers may process technical information, including IP addresses, browser and device information, cookies, and logs, to deliver the service, maintain sign-in sessions, troubleshoot problems, and protect accounts.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides basic account information, such as your account identifier, email address, name, and profile picture, depending on your account and the permissions granted. We use this information to create or authenticate your Manly Merit account.

Our Google sign-in integration does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Photos library, or Google Calendar.

How we use information

We use information to operate Manly Merit, authenticate users, save personal settings and progress, display content users have saved, respond to support requests, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Private profiles

Manly Merit does not provide a public user directory or a feature for searching or browsing other users’ profiles. Your saved avatar, progress, calendar, and Man Cave content are associated with your account and are not made available for other users to browse.

Authorized administrators and service providers may access information when necessary to operate the service, provide support, or address security issues.

Service providers and sharing

We use Clerk for account authentication, Cloudflare for application hosting and storage, and GoDaddy and Microsoft 365 for the website and support communications. Google processes information when you choose Google sign-in. These providers process information needed to deliver their services.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or protect the service.

Advertising and sale of information

Manly Merit does not sell users’ personal information. The initial application does not display paid third-party advertisements or use private account content for targeted advertising.

Cookies and storage

Manly Merit and its providers use cookies and similar technologies for functions such as authentication, security, preferences, and website operation. Blocking these technologies may prevent some features from working.

Photographs and personal content

Photo uploads are optional. Upload only photographs you have permission to use, and avoid including sensitive information about yourself or others. Man Cave photographs are stored to provide the frame feature within your account.

Retention and deletion

We retain information as needed to provide the service and meet legitimate security, operational, and legal needs.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@manlymerit.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Deleting an authentication account may not automatically remove all saved application content, so contact support to request removal of that content as well. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where required by law.

Children’s privacy

Manly Merit accounts are intended for people age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parent-managed child accounts are not currently available.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@manlymerit.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps to remove it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in credentials private and contact support if you suspect unauthorized account access.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
